a.\tDirectly accessing the hard disks (software is available for free on the internet)<\/p>\n
b.\tSome machines have reprint option<\/p>\n
c.\tExporting through data port<\/p>\n
d.\tMost copiers also have emailing feature.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
This information can be accessed by employees, copier technicians and buyers of used copier machines.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Tips to protect information leakage through copiers \/ scanners:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
1.\tCopy documents only if required.<\/p>\n
2.\tCheck whether your copier has a disk encryption feature. If yes, enable this feature.<\/p>\n
3.\tAll pending print jobs should be cleared.<\/p>\n
4.\tDocument emailing from the machine should be allowed only for authorized email addresses.<\/p>\n
5.\tEnable authentication mechanisms like using passwords \/ PIN, swipe cards etc.<\/p>\n
6.\tWhen machine is sent out for servicing or disposed off, ensure that all data stored in the hard disk is erased or wiped off completely.<\/p>\n
